The internet is a huge space where many people go to get away from the world. Some use it as a space for freedom, to spend time with people, to get away from the world and its people. Afterall, the real world is a scary place sometimes. However, just like real life, you have to be safe on the internet. Who knows what could happen, hangout with the wrong people, stumbleupon places you weren’t meant for, or perhaps get a supernatural entity to haunt you.

Disclaimer: This is mainly for fun, so things may be wrong, but you know it's about the journey not the destination. (also probably spelling mistakes but like) also Spoilers.
Before anything, both SCP and Creepypastas are a bit finicky when it comes to a “canon” sense; they both are more community driven Stores and characters. Due to this I will list everything that will be used. Both will also be “composite” of all versions, whether that be specific versions into one or multiple different continuities into one, as of 7/30/24.

Background
downloading all there is for MalO
It is unclear where exactly SCP-1471, also known as MalO Ver1.0.0 came from. The clearest answer comes from a company called “Hunter Industries” where a project called “Malphas” had begun. It was designed to help comfort and assist at home for lonely people and be there for them. It would use special technology created by Hunter Industries to make it as real as possible without any sort of holograms or similar things. Upon its first few drafts Malphas took a bird-like form, until a worker named Gabriel Trąba would create a mockup design of that was more a large humanoid figure with a canid-like skull and black hair, that would soon be implemented for version 1.0.0.
Once the update came, many issues came about. Hunter Industries has ended up cloning a demon to make the Application. By the time a patch came out, someone had leaked the app before it was finished, gaining over 7k downloads in a short time. They soon hatched a plan to have the S.C.P. foundation to find the app and contain it. Once apprehended it would be dubbed “SCP-1471” and any device with “MalO Ver1.0.0'' would be confiscated and held at Storage Unit-91. But Who knows, maybe that’s not what happened, just a cover up for the real story, wouldn’t be the first time the S.C.P. foundation has done so. Whatever the case is, all MalO is trying to do is be a friend for all.
Spreading the word of the Smile Dog
Not much is known about the original Smile.Jpg photo other than it supposedly excited during the earliest days of the internet. The best account of any information is from a person named Mary E. who had got in contact with an amateur writer trying to get information for their college assignments. She would ramble historically about her dreams and how she found it as a hyperlink. Reportedly 400 people had seen the image, Mary E. being the only one who would talk about it. Information about the original image was scarce and only rumours were shared around.
At one point, hackers would end up spamming the image everywhere. This led to many people viewing the image. Some who saw would committee suicide, others just went silent, disappearing of internet entirely. The anonymous person who had spent so long looking into smile dog would soon end up like Mary, infected by Smile dog. It would take a toll on them and they would start seeing Smile Dog everywhere they went, floppy disks sent in the mail, accidents around them with messages telling them to spread the word, constant nightmares. They couldn’t take it anymore and wanted to put an end to it, but that only caused them to look at the image. So they did the only thing they could do, spread the word and it just so happened they worked for a national new station.
Weapons and Equipment
SCP-1471
Phones
Now SCP-1471 Doesn’t have a phone itself, debatable, its true form resides on them. The “Mal0 Ver1.0.0” app gains full control over the devices it inhabits, most of the time being a phone.

SCP-109-PT-J
SCP- 1471, and some other SCP’s, has shown to be able to access SCP-109-PT-J through unknown means. SCP-109-PT-J is an unknown website that can only be accessed by anomalies and not by humans. Attempts to use remote artificial intelligence have resulted in failures. SCP-109-PT-J works as a secret database, which has the function of cataloguing each non-anomalous entity found. It has articles about normal people, workers, drug users, disabled people, articles about Foundation staff. As well as having knowledge of people with anomalous properties as well. SCP-1471 is a member, previously a stalker and presumably gathering data on humans in the past, and goes by MalO on the website.
Possibly SCP-097-CS
SCP-097-CS is a spatial and dimensional anomaly through which a ski lift passes, operating between 1956 and 2019 before being shut down by the SCP foundation, in the Ural Mountains at an altitude of 2000 m above sea level. While travelling through SCP-097-CS, you can see billboards and statements of various types appear, usually for commercial or propaganda purposes. Theories suggest that SCP-097-CS connects several random realities, beginning at the entrance and ending at the exit located at the top of the hill; anomalous effects only work when travelling by lift. SCP-1471 is one of the anomalies to appear in SCP-097-CS. They appear on a radio and appear as a commercial; advertising themself as a photo editing software. It should be noted that everyone who has seen it there has had contact with SCP-1471 in the past. It is also unclear if this is SCP-097-CS or SCP-1471 causing this effect.

Human Hand
It’s unclear what this hand is, other than a hand, or who it belongs to, but many people have described it as having a “beckoning” feeling. It should be noted that the hand never does anything
Floppy Diskette
Smile dog is capable of somehow sending floppy disks though unknown means. These disks presumably have an Image of Smile Dog on it.
Teeth and claws
Being a dog-like creature in shape, the Smile dog has sharp teeth and claws.
Skills and Abilities
SCP-1471
Hacking
SCP-1471 is able to hack into any device and bypass any software to stop malware. It is also able to access all parts of a phone. It was also able to hack its way into minecraft!?!?!
Perception manipulation
Once someone has looked at a photo sent by SCP-1471 they will become a host. After more than 90 hours of exposure, the host will start to see SCP-1471-A. These effects are permanent and have no cure to them. The only way for MalO's effect to go away is if malO chooses to let you go from them.
Insanity Inducement
One multiple occasions viewing photos sent by SCP-1471 will cause people to grow crazy, leading to feelings that are overwhelming, make people spiral, and possible lead to suicide. It also makes people addicted to receiving images from SCP-1471. The more instances of SCP-1471-A in photos that are sent, will speed up the process.
Possible Existence Erase Resistance
Once SCP-1471 is installed, its files can not be found on devices. It is also able to refuse being deleted from devices out right.
Clairvoyance
SCP-1471 is consistently shown to be able to know of locations that the host has visited as well as the location of the host themself.
Data manipulation
Its form is tied with its code, being able to change its voice, clothing, gender, form, and other things. It is also able to adapt to the device it is on, changing the way a person receives messages and photos. It is capable of creating photos onto devices and able to manipulate photos, forcefully inserting instances of SCP-1471-A into them, even if they had been taken before installation of SCP-1471.
Possible precognition
It is able to send pictures of events soon to happen before they even happen.
Technology manipulation
SCP-1471 is able to travel from device to device just by being in close proximity to an infected device. It has also been shown being able to follow hosts despite them getting a new phone, the app already on the new phone.
Possible Type 8 immortality
It is implied that the MalO Ver1.0.0 apps are all connected with each other. SCP-1471 may still exist as long as there are still devices with the MalO Ver1.0.0 application, not to mention SCP-1471 is still able to somehow appear on app store devices despite devices not having SCP-1471 on them before. Many phones are located in Storage Unit-91 in research site 45. After becoming very close friends with SCP-6596, they would take all phones at the Site 120 and take them to an unknown location, even the foundation don’t know.

Photography mastery
MalO will take photos with SCP-1471-A in the back or foreground and progressively get closer to the user. It also took a selfie that one time with SCP-6596 and their BFF’s

Stealth mastery
Was able to sneak around the SCP foundation undetectable and when within SCP-1633 they were able to sneak around the battlefield, stealing equipment and giving away enemies locations without being noticed.
Information Gathering
SCP-1471-A has actually shown great skills at gathering information on individuals and surrounding areas, not to mention the application itself kind of has all access to phones. Due to SCP-109-PT-J, it also could gather a large amount of information on people.
incorporeal form
SCP-1471-A doesn’t have a physical form. It resides either in reflection or in a host peripheral vision. However it does “exist” in the real world, being able to wander around and be on the lookout for things, not being confined to reflections. Viewing it could possibly lead to an overwhelming feeling. Its form is also dependent on the host, they can appear as female, male, or neither. They can have different hair, skull shapes, and heights.
Self Sustenance
It doesn’t need to eat, drink, or sleep at all. Wow it doesn’t need to sleep, who could have guessed.
Duplication
It is able to exist in multiple mirrors at a time. Viewings of these can give an overwhelming feeling. It also has been seen appearing multiple times in one image, and the more you see, the shorter the time frame of when MalO becomes permanent.
Telepathy
It is able to communicate telepathically with infected hosts.
Illusion creation
It is able to create illusions. These illusions can be very convincing to a host driving them to do things. The largest known was able to cover an entire mental hospital.
Manifestation
MalO’s able to gain a physical form that exists in the real world. In this state it is able to interact with things and people are capable of seeing it. It seems limited to 33.3 yards (100 feet) away from any infected host.
Phasing
While having a physical form, it can phase through walls.
Teleportation
While having a physical form, they are capable of teleportation to any device with SCP-1471 downloaded.
Technology manipulation
Its presence is able to mess with technology around it. This could be interfering with lights or to use nearby cameras to take photos, use screens to display messages.
Possibly Prevent summoning
In the SCP card game “Uncontained” it prevents opponents from drawing from the public pile. This doesn’t allow them to draw more SCPs, civilians, or scientists.
Possible Type 8 immortality
SCP-1471-A is tied with the MalO app. As long as the app is installed and a host has been infected then SCP-1741-A shouldn’t be able to die. It is possible that it could reform as long as the app and host are both around. Now if the phone of the app is disabled, then it could prevent SCP-1471-A from existing before the 90+ hours mark. Beyond this point however, SCP-1471-A is permanently tied with a host unless MalO releases themself from the host.
Smile Dog
Social influence
Smile Dog has shown being able to influence tones of people and just manipulating people to large degrees.
Insanity Inducement
Merely viewing the Smile Dog image can make people go insane. The Smile Dog will haunt them and tell them to “Spread the word.” It can go as far to make people commit suicide. Those who are able to fight against the feelings will constantly see fits of the image in their mind.
Mind manipulation
Smile Dog is capable of giving people temporal lobe epilepsy and acute anxiety. It also talks to the people and has some rules of their mind, and those who are strong enough to resist its effects will still struggle. It is also able to invade people's minds entirely telling them to spread the word.
Dream manipulation.
Smile Dog is able to enter people’s dreams and talk to them. There he can turn dreams into nightmares and give people paralysis within their own dreams.
Telepathy
Smile Dog talks with people directly to their minds. Talking and tormenting them inside their minds.
Limited Creation
Smile Dog is somehow able to create floppy disks. He can send them through the mail or they will just appear near someone he wants to spread the word, usually after someone who’s seen it has killed themselves.
Image manifestation and duplication
Smile Dog is able to manifest itself as drawings, or even images, and if a recreation of Smile Dog image is infused with blood it will become Smile Dog.
Technology manipulation
Smile Dog is able to manipulate technology by making himself appear on screens of monitors, interrupting camera feeds, forcing its way through the internet using phone numbers and emails, and taking over calls. In chainmail chaser he has shown far greater control over technology, being able to take over the main character's whole computer and taking over their youtube channel. It is also able to turn on surrounding devices near the device it is on.
Voice mimicry
Was able to mimic the voices of a 911 operator, police officers, and the voices of dead people.
Illusion creation
Was able to create illusions to try and trick its victims. He uses this to trick his victims into a false sense of security.
Blood Absorption and Possible Blood Manipulation
In a few of the stories, Smile Dog is depicted as being able to make writing on walls with blood. As well in the Vibing leaf videos, Smile Dog says he shall make the rain turn to blood. However he never outright does that.
Dimensional travel
In multiple stories, Smile Dog is either said, or able, to travel into the real world, or manifest itself, giving it a body of its own. It is also speculated that it brings people's souls to Heck and travels from the real and digital world. Smile dog has also been able to absorb blood, making people not bleed from attacks, leaving them with a burning feeling, and can become stronger.
Hypnosis
Smile dog can hypnotise people when they look into its eyes, making a man snap his own neck one time.
Data Manipulation
Smile Dog has been shown images and videos, as well as inserting itself in cartoons and images.
Mutation and Duplication
The original Smile Dog image is still unknown, but it was mutated and duplicated so far from its original points, even spawning other iconic Creepypasta images. It has made many copies, each floppy disk has a Smile Dog image and every time it is spread it creates more of itself. In Chainmail Chaser is quoted as “As these images are spread, whatever force that animates them causes natural image loss and different context to sort of mutate them. Evolving into different images and manifesting different entities. That’s why the known Image Entity can only assume forms that are relatively close to itself.”
Possible BattleField Entrapment
During an event soon to be called “Heaven Stairway Incident,” Smile dog may be responsible for keeping people from entering heaven, then falling back to earth with messed up bodies and their faces grinning. However it's unknown if this is Smile Dog doing this and it may very well be a story of some kind.
Possible type 8 Immortality
It’s said that Smile Dog is nothing more than an image. As long as the image is around then then Smile dog will continue to live on and spread its word. It is also said that Smile Dog exists as an idea and fear and disbelief, only fully dying once people stop spreading the word of Smile Dog.

Was able to kick over a poker table. they messed up the game :(

Weaknesses
SCP-1471
SCP-1471 and SCP-1471-A have never shown any experience with fighting, let alone being hostel. MalO never out right tries to harm people and other entities. While yes, they are mischievous and snarky at times, they have no intention of hurting people. As well as its anomalies effects to harm people. People in the past have learned to just live with MalO like Dietrich M. Lurk, William and kit.
SCP-1471-A can’t outright appear from the get go, they have to take time and if a person just stops exposure to images of SCP-1471-A. Although MalO does have a few ways around this, by spreading to nearby technology, when in the physical world, or by bombarding themself at one time to get past the 90+ hour threshold;
MalO could also be susceptible to being taken over by other entities. SCP-914, SCP-CHEEMS, and Zygard have bypassed and taken the place of SCP-1471-A. However it should be noted that it has only been shown by either Joke SCP or reality warping. However it’s never been shown that it can’t happen through other means
MalO also notably lacks any physical feats. Now this mainly lacks a physical body at times, but when it does, it is never shown doing much other than speed feets.
Smile Dog
Like MalO, Smile Dog also notably lacks physical feets. Unlike MalO, Smile Dog has more physical feats but lacks in other categories
Another possible weakness for Smile Dog is that he likes to torment and mess with his victims rather than kill them outright. Even in stories where he can come into the real world, he still torments them and fills them with fear.
Smile Dog also can’t directly hurt people who haven't seen the Smile Dog image. He tries and force his way to be seen, by sending floppy disks, using others to send the image or spreading itself to other places, but for the most part he cannot hurt them if they haven’t seen the image.
Final Thoughts
Alright now that everything has been discussed and looked over, lettuce see which digital canine-like entity would be able to defeat the other first. Everything will be compiled and see what advantages each has over the other. Mmm I don’t feel like ending it with a silly thing.
Physical Stats
This fight would hardly ever end in anything physical, but it is something to be of note. First their strength feats, both should be above the average human. Smile Dog has been shown killing humans with ease, dragging around their dead bodies, and breaking through car windows. He should also have the same bite force as a normal husky. Meanwhile MalO, while not having much, they have shown to knock over a poker table with just one kick. They were also shown being able to kick and trip SCP-073 and SCP-2430, both being fully grown men. But when the two are compared, Smile Dog’s are more impressive. He’s actually been shown hurting and killing people, while MalO has just been doing all of that as more of pranks, well except SCP-2430. Smile Dog should take strength.
Durability is more interesting, both lack feats in this category. MalO has shown almost none except maybe one, possibly being able to survive a car crash, however they could have very easily just teleported out before the car actually crashed. Smile Dog has actually shown feats. He has survived getting both staved by a kitchen knife and getting hit by a car, but both of these he was hurt badly during this. Smile Dog takes durability, but not by that much.
Finally, speed. Smile dog hasn’t actually shown any speed feats of any kind. At the very least. he should be as fast as a normal husky, being able to run at speeds of 20 to 30 miles per hour. MalO actually has shown quite few speed feats, both physical and incorporeal form. They have shown to be faster than bullets, such as being able to sign faster than automatic bullet fire and even being able to dodge a shotgun blast nearly point blank.
Something notable to bring up for MalO is SCP-6596 Scaling. SCP-6596 was able to search the entirety of site 120 in 43 minutes. Site 120 has an above ground 34 km2 or 8401.58297 acres. This would be around 18mph, possibly faster due to having to find and steal all the paper. Now while this is pretty fast, MalO scaling is a bit iffy. For one they haven’t shown really interacting other than the test, which while yes did end with them basically becoming best friends, “I’ve found someone new / she’s nicer than you / goodbye, my good friends / our battles end now.” Even if they did scale it wouldn’t be that far off from where MalO is already, being able to dodge a shotgun blast. Even with that, MalO should take reaction Speed over Smile Dog, even if he should be faster travel speed wise.
Skills and Abilities
Both MalO and Smile Dog don’t have many skills that would help in a fighting based scenario. Now with both being entities heavily tied with technology, MalO may hold a slight edge with being able to hack into other technology. However Smile dog has shown being really persistent to get into peoples mind and making them spread the word and do what he says. This may very well be better since MalO hasn’t shown much resistance to being manipulated by others, though that's mainly because they have never been put into that kind of situation.
Smile Dog also has been shown being around for a really long time, supposedly since the early days of the internet back in the 1970's. Meanwhile The farthest back we can find for MalO is 2013, when possible created by Hunter Industries and when the article was made by the foundation. So Smile Dog has been around for a long time
As for abilities they share quite a bit of abilities, Insanity Inducement, Data manipulation, Technology manipulation, Type 8 immortality, Telepathy, Illusions, manifest a real form. However, due to Smile Dog actually being an entity of pure evil, has shown much more aggression. The greatest example being his technology and Data Manipulation. He has shown being able to take over whole computers, causing websites to go down, changing old films and cartoons, messing with camera feeds, doing everything he can to make someone he’s after. MalO has in the past been taken over and replaced in their own app, though these have been made by reality warpers and joke characters, there is nothing saying they can’t. Another one is their ability to make others insane. MalO does not intend to do it and many have come to expect MalO in their lives, even enjoying their company. Smile Dog on the other hand does everything in his power to mess with people who have seen him. He will nonstop torment you for years and if you don’t do what he says he will keep pushing further and further.
However some abilities that they possess may either not work or may not affect them. MalO is able to resist any attempts of Smile Dog’s dream manipulation since they don’t need to eat, drink, or sleep. Also any attempt to be deleted wont work on MalO sense they have shown being able to just not be deleted by softwares designed to delete them. It’s unclear how any of Smile Dogs Mind manipulation and illusions. Most of Smile Dog’s mind manipulation actually affects the mind itself, causing seizures and epilepsy on a person. We have seen that people who were infected with memetic proprietors that cause death, who take the place of Mal0 actually get this property negated, as we see with the person who accidentally took the place of MalO with Clockworks. So MalO theoretically resists something like Smile Dog. Mal0 should also be able to counter his illusions with their own. Meanwhile Smile Dog really may only have trouble with MalO’s ability to stop summoning things, however it's unclear the extent or really how these abilities work. This could maybe prevent Smile Dog from summoning real life photos and floppy disks. The same things that are unclear how it would work with each other is the same as MalO, as Smile Dog could easily counter their illusion and their instantaneous inducement isn’t as strong as Smile Dogs.
The real question is if they could kill each other. Both may possibly possess Type 8 immortality, although Smile Dog’s seems more reliable. As long as the image of Smile Dog exists and the idea of him is still alive he will be alive. While MalO could possibly delete images of Smile Dog, there are still plenty of images out there and MalO has no way of killing the idea of Smile Dog. Meanwhile, Smile Dog has a more reliable way of killing MalO. If SCP-1471 is still around SCP-1471-A should be able to come back from being destroyed and if the MalO app is still around on any phone then SCP-1471 should still be around, leading to SCP-1471-A being around as well. Smile Dog could take over the app itself even if he doesn’t have a way to get to every phone, Smile Dog could just corrupt all instances of the app since they all are connected. Even if that hasn’t happened directly, only with reality warpers and joke characters, this is something that could happen to MalO. The only thing Smile Dog can’t do is just erase MalO sense they have a resistance to it. Smile Dog could also use his hypnosis on MalO to make them release themself from Smile Dog or a host being around, since they could just convince MalO to basically kill themself in that scenario. This category should solidly go to Smile Dog
Weapons and Equipment
Both don’t really have much weapons. MalO does have access to all their phones they are connected to and in theory if a phone with MalO is around then MalO should be able to survive. This is important because SCP-6596 did take a large number of phones to some unknown place that not even the foundation knows. They also have access to SCP-109-PT-J, who has information on almost every non-anomalous entity. it's a bit unclear what this means but basically anything not being held by the SCP foundation. However this is still loss since there are human SCP’s on the website that have anomalous abilities. So in theory they could use this to find out people who have experienced Smile Dog, if an amateur reporter was able to then the basically foundation for humans should have it. However both pale in comparison to Smile Dogs abilities. Smile Dog can spread itself really well and if it has access can take full control over technology and technology connected to it. Smile Dog in the past was responsible for the crashing and shut down of a popular website and was able to break and go beyond a virtual machine, machines designed to be a fake desktop so that you won't get viruses. So if he is able to get into the site, it is only a matter of time before it goes down and gets destroyed.
As for Smile dogs equipment, the hand in the background is strange. Since it's never really shown to do much, maybe claw at things in some stories, but other than that it also gives off a beckoning feeling. The Floppy disk on the other hand is interesting. Each disk has a copy of Smile Dog on them. So this helps with his immortality, keeping him alive even longer. They also basically give him an outlet to make things in the real world. The hand may not be much of a problem for MalO since it's never shown to have its own abilities and if it's used to attack MalO could easily dodge out of the way. As for the Floppy disk, that is also interesting. MalO could possibly just outright stop him from even summoning or having them shipped at all since MalO just gives off an effect that makes it so you can’t summon new things onto the battlefield, however this is unclear how this really works or if it would work on the disk even.
Things like MalO’s outfits, claws and teeth and Smile dogs claws and teeth, don’t play that much into the debate. Anything physical really only matters whenever they are physical but the battle will never end in a physical confrontation and would end in their abilities. This category is relatively even, if not in Smile Dog’s favour since he can outright negate all of MalO’s stuff, even if MalO could possibly, his is just more surefire to work.

While this battle is a bit confusing on how it would even work and could probably not even start to begin with. However there are ways and we wanted to truly see who would win. Initially the fight was somewhat even and the both did have some ways of beating the other, and me personally rooting for MalO. Once more research was put into this the odds slowly started to shift into Smile Dogs favour a lot more. MalO was a great deal faster reaction wise and a decently impressive immortality, but compared to how strong and how much Smile Dog has been shown to do with manipulating technology, it’s only a matter of when will Smile Dog beat MalO rather than who would win. MalO has never even been shown hostile, so when faced with a threat like Smile Dog, Someone who is truly evil and sadistic, MalO has no real shot of beating him. Smile Dog can pretty much counter everything MalO could do, the only thing being that they couldn’t outright be deleted. That still wouldn’t matter since Smile Dog just could corrupt the MalO app. Pretty much everything that was found for MalO, Smile Dog had some way of bypassing, negating, or just cancelling out with MalO. Even if we kept Smile Dog only to his original Creepypasta, MalO would still have no way to kill Smile Dog.
