Angry birds vs Plants vs Zombies

“Take ice. Ice is fascinating to me. Ice is the one thing in our world that went from an agricultural product to being manufactured.”

-Alton Brown

Intro

Mobile gaming is a huge part of internet culture, spawning some of the most iconic games in its respective game genre with games like Subway surfers, Crossy Road, Temple run, Doodle Jump, Flappy Bird, and so much more, but there are two which stand out from the rest; Angry Birds by Rovio, and Plants vs Zombies by pop cap. These two are one of the most popular mobile games, constantly being compared to this day. So what if we put two of these characters against each other, and no, not the ever icon Red vs Peashooter, rather their icy counterparts.

Ice Bird, the icy soaring extraterrestrial bird from Rovio’s Angry Birds. Protecting the Eggsteroids since 2012.

Snow Pea, the Snowy pea firing plant from Popcaps’ Plants vs Zombies. Protecting Crazy Dave since 2009.

Before we begin there's a few things to go over. Both series have a lot of media to pull from with how long they’ve been around and games and other media that has been made. So for this, we will give both everything they have from every piece of media they have appeared in.

For Ice Bird, despite Angry Birds being a huge franchise, notably lacks a lot of appearances (curse you Rovio), but something about Angry birds is the different universe and timelines, so we will composite all of them into one for Ice Bird.

For Snow Pea, things are interesting, since technically there are different ice versions of Pea shooter; Snow Pea, Ice Pea, Ice Peashooter, Ice Queen Pea, and a few others. So for this we will composite them all into one unless there is a very notable reason to exclude a variation. Also due to the nature of some of the PvZ chinese exclusive games, some simply aren't well documented or even lost media. So anything I simply don't Have enough information or can't find will be excluded, but I will try my best to find everything I can.

Additionally a quick mention of some very helpful information that helped me construct this blog, big thanks to them.

sources

I’m Lucky the pending, and this is a Knights of E blog. I worked on this mainly alone, so yeah.

Disclaimer: This is mainly for fun, so things may be wrong, but you know it's about the journey not the destination. (also probably spelling mistakes but like) also Spoilers.

Background

A space odyssey with Ice Bird

One day while the Flock was looking after their eggs, a wormhole opened up, and out came Ice Bird crashing into the ground; in his hands was the Eggsteroid. Ice Bird wasn’t alone though, a giant claw protruded out of the portal as well, snatching the Eggsteroid, inadvertently grabbing the Flocks eggs as well. Ice Bird spends no time launching himself back through the portal, with the Flock falling as well. Thus, this started their space adventure to get the Eggs back.

Ice Bird, possibly based on a Kingfisher, is an extraterrestrial bird made completely of Ice. Not much is actually known about Ice Bird before or even after the Events of Angry Birds space, other than a few cameos here and there.

The front lawns with Snow Pea

Zombies have been around since the beginning of time, and there’s only one way to stop them… with plants. Crazy Dave is the main supplier, and has tons of different plants, but the main one is Snow Pea, or sometimes known as Ice Pea. This is the snowy version of Peashooter, instead of shooting peas, they shoot snow peas. Snow Pea and the plants fight the zombies, and Dr. Zomboss. Snow Pea is even in the Garden Warfare series, fighting alongside the hero plants, to save space and time against Zombies and even gnomes.

Ice Pea is based off of the pea plant, but frozen, like frozen peas in your fridge. The way Peashooters work is by sending peas up their stems, and then shooting it out their mouth. Ice Pea also really hates ice puns.

Weapons and Equipment

Ice Bird

SlingShot

Every Bird has access to a slingshot. They can use these to fling themselves across space.

Eggsteroids

Ice bird has many eggs called "Eggsteroids." These eggs look like meteors and act as Angry Birds Space’s Golden Egg. The eggs are able to create wormholes that take you to the Eggsteroids level. In the “The World of Angry Birds Official Guide,” The wormhole that is created by the Eggsteroids, is said to be a pocket dimension that birds can enter and exit as they please. Once leaving it will bring them back to where they first entered the wormhole. In the trading card game, the Eggsteroids are able to beat every other card in the game.

NASA Mars Rovers

In the Eggsteroids dimension, there are 4 different Mars rovers from NASA; Viking, Solourner, Opportunity, Phoenix. As well as the Flock takes a Rover from the pigs after defeating them.

Possibly Mirror World Portal

Once the Space Flock find a portal, once they entire, it takes them to the Mirror worlds. These are flipped, more difficult versions of levels in the game. They seem to be able to entire this dimension at any time after unlocking it. It has also been shown being a mirror that one can entire as well.

Power Ups

In Angry Birds Space, there are three main power ups that the birds have access to at most times during the games.

  • Flock of Birds

    • Duplicates the birds into one original size bird and four smaller versions of the bird, being a bit weaker but keeping their powers.

  • Puffer Pig

    • Will inflate the pigs like a balloon, if they are in a small space and infelt, they will pop. This also makes them easier to pop.

  • Space Egg

    • Will spawn a space egg that when launched, will create a small vortex that sucks things towards it, destroying them.

Snowman Costume

Ice Bird has been shown wearing a Snowman Costume during the “Frost Festival” event in Angry Birds reloaded.

Ice Bird Kart

Now, technically this shouldn’t be included, since Ice bird was never in the game, but there were models for ice bird and his kart that was alluding to him possibly being the game at some point, before the game got taken off the app stores. This is a kart that Ice Bird would be able to fly around. It’s unknown what his ability would have been.

Snow Pea

Plant Food/Energy Bean

Being one of the new things they added in Plants vs Zombies 2, the Plant Food is something that can be given to plants and let them do a powerful attack or ability. In Snow Pea’s case, this lets them chill the ground, slowing down anybody in it, and then firing a barrage of frozen peas. When a plant is using plant food, they will be encased in light, and additionally they will also gain a temporary immunity

In PvZ 2 Chinese, the Energy Bean serves this game's Plant food, letting plants use a big attack.

In PvZ Heroes, the Plant Food card is capable of increasing both damage and health by one.

In PvZ 3, they have a similar ability called “Snowball Fight” where they fire a big barrage of frozen peas.

Seed Packets

In PvZ 2, plants are able to be upgraded by using Seed packets, upgrading plants also sometimes gives them abilities while making them stronger in the process.

List of stats:

Costumes

In Plants vs Zombies 2, Snow Pea has a few different cosmetics that they can choose from. In PvZ 2 chinese edition, costumes will aid their plant food effects. Snow Pea’s first costume will make them fire 3 big snow peas instead of a barrage. They also have a number of hats in the Garden Warfare series.

Those costumes being:

  • PvZ 2

    • Pink winter hat

    • Green and white striped knit hat

    • Brown ushanka hat

    • Large top hat

    • Party Horn

  • PvZ 2 chinese

    • Naraka bladepoint

  • PvZ Online

    • Pink party hat

    • Purple jester hat

    • Witch hat and Jack-o-lantern face

    • Big purple hat

  • Plants vs. Zombies: Original Edition

    • Junior Bailong Shooter

  • Garden Warfare

Puzzle Pieces

In Pvz 2 Chinese edition, Puzzle pieces can be used to upgrade a plant's tear, making them stronger and unlocking new abilities.

  • Freezing

    • 15% change to fire a Ice Pick, doing more damage (90)

  • Combat training

    • Snow Pea will gain 50% more attack power and health

In PvZ All Star, Puzzle pieces could be used to increase many of a plant's stats. Increasing the in many different aspects

List of stat increase:

Equipment

In PvZ All Stars, each plant is able to use three different equipment; Weapon, armour, and clock. Each one increases damage, defence, and health respectively. There are many different rarities and types, each being better than the last one, and they can even have set bonuses. He has things like slingshots and hammers. There are a huge amount of them, too many to list, so I will provide a link.

Pets

In PvZ All Stars, pets, or spirits depending on translation, were a part of the equipment that would increase some attributes of plants depending on the pet. Just for consistency sake, I will link all of the pets in the game.

Taco

In versions of Plants vs Zombies 3, Tacos could be given to plants that would let them use their “Tacoblity.” Snow Pea’s Tacoblity was called “Ice Queen,” Giving them the chance to freeze zombies solid.

Ice Pea Cannon

In the Garden Warfare Franchise, Ice Pea’s main weapon is the Ice Pea Cannon. This is like the Pea Cannon of the Regular Peashooter, however this time it has a freezing effect. This Freezing effect is capable of slowing down zombies, and if hit enough times, completely freezing them. When frozen, you aren’t able to use any attacks or use their abilities. The frozen peas are also able to give off splash damage as well. A downside is that its louder than the regular Pea cannon, alerting enemies easier.

Chilli Bean Bomb

Ice Pea is able to fire a chilli bean that explodes after a short while. They use this to cause a huge amount of damage and hit more zombies at once. After using, the ability will cool down.

Sombrero Bean Bomb

The Sombrero Bean Bomb is similar to the Chilli Bean Bomb, however this one will take longer to detonate, but in return will do more damage. Like the first bomb, this will have a recharge time before it can be used again.

Dark Bean Bomb

The Dark Bean Bomb is weaker and has a smaller blast radius then the other two Bean Bombs, but in exchange, they will explode in a few seconds and Ice Pea is able to stack two at a time before they have to recharge.

Weapon Upgrades

In Garden Warfare, there are upgrades for Ice Pea that weapon, Ice Pea Cannon, that can increase a few aspects on how they play.

  • Chilled Plant Food

    • This will decrease Ice Pea’s reload time.

  • Ice Packed Pea Bags

    • Increase the amount of ammo Ice Pea has at a time.

  • Harder Freezer Burned Peas

    • Will increase the freezing damage on Ice Peas ice-peas, also making them last longer.

Grow-a-Pot & Soil of Summoning

In the Garden Warfare series, plants and zombies are able to spawn in addition to plants/zombies to help them in their battles. In the plant's case, they could be planted in Grow-a-pot and grow immediately, but are immobile. In Garden Warfare 2, they are able to use the Soil of Summoning to grow Weeds. The weeds, and Hypno-Shroom, are able to walk around.

Skills and Abilities

Ice Bird

Ice Manipulation

Ice Birds main ability in the games is to freeze things over into ice, making them as brittle as glass in an instant, the ability in game is called “Deep Freeze Attack.” They can also give off an explosion that would freeze things around him. Ice Bird has also been show being able to completely freeze things by simply touching them.

In the “Super Angry Birds,” Ice Bird is able to fire ice blasts from his hands, freezing things instantly.

In trailers, Ice Bird is depicted being able to just freeze things near him, rather than in a game where he explodes and covers things in ice.

Flight

Despite the birds using slingshot to fling themselves around space, they all are actually able to fly around in space without the need for it. This includes Ice Bird, who leaves a blue trail behind him.

Dimensional Travel

Using the Eggsteroids, they are able to travel into a pocket dimension. They are able to enter and leave as they wish and can serve as a form of teleportation for them. They may also be able to entire the Mirror worlds using the Vortex or possibly the mirror.

Self-sustenance Type 1

Ice Bird doesn’t need to breathe. He has shown pretty much throughout the entirety of “Angry Birds Space,” he is in space without the need to breathe. As well in “Pig Dipper,” they are fine in the water for a long period of time.

Immortality type 4

In Angry Birds, characters can just respawn… not even as a game mechanic. In the Sling Shot series characters go to a white void and just… come back? This would explain things like Bomb or Ice bird exploding, or how the pigs and birds poof away and then come back fine later. Pigs have been shown coming from basically nothing. While never being a thing when Ice Bird and Angry Birds Space came out, it is a thing in the Reloaded version of Angry Birds Space, which is in line with the more recent stuff of Angry Birds. P

Summoning

In the toy/card game made by Mattel, Ice bird is able to summon a random bird and launch it alongside him. The power segment of the manual translates to, “Launch the Spaceman-Kingfisher, then launch any random bird.”

Rock, Paper, Scissors haxes ?

In the Angry Birds trading cards, each card has a different item on their cards that are able to defeat a different card, running off of Rock, Paper, Scissors logic. Slingshot destroys TNT, TNT destroys Stone, and Stone destroys Slingshot. There are also rare powerful Egg cards, which can destroy all of them. Ice Bird has been all three different types on various cards. Do with what you want with this, this doesn’t play much of a role, just wanted to include this.

Snow Pea

Ice Manipulation

One of Snow Pea’s main abilities is to slow and freeze zombies. Snow pea does this by firing Frozen peas, these will slow zombies down by giving them a chill effect.

In PvZ 2, Snow Pea also has a chance to fire stronger Frozen pea that will freeze zombies for a short time. The frozen peas also cause splash damage. While using the plant food, they will give off a chilling effect that slows down zombies. Additanly it can put out flames.

In PvZ 2 Chinese edition, Snow Pea has a chance to fire Ice Picks. Ice picks to more damage them regular Frozen Peas. Snow Pea has an even greater chance to fire a stronger Ice Pick then before. When using Energy Bean while wearing a costume, they will fire three big frozen peas.

In PvZ Online, they could use their skill “Pea Scattershot” that would deal damage to the top, middle, and bottom rows. This would also have the chance to freeze zombies.

In PvZ All Stars, after Ice Pea had filled its anger bar, it would use an attack called “Quick Freeze” that would deal damage to the closest enemy with a chance to freeze them for two turns. Ice Pea had another passive ability called “Icebreaker” that would make Quick Freeze deal 74 extra damage, doubling it if the enemy is frozen. The Evolved form of Ice Pea, “ Frostbolt shooter” could shoot ice arrows.

In Pvz Heroes, Snow Pea would freeze zombies, this will cause them to skip their turn. Theoretically they could keep someone frozen indefinitely, letting them continuously fire peas at their turns.

In PvZ Garden Warfare, the Ice Pea Cannon is able to slow zombies and eventually freeze them after being hit enough times.

In PvZ GW 2, when freezing an enemy, it would prevent them from using any abilities. They can also get an upgrade that makes them able to freeze enemies faster.

In PvZ 3, using their plant food, they would use “Snowball Fight.” As well as after using their Tacoblitiy, they will become “Ice Queen,” a stronger version of Snow Pea

In PvZ Pinball, Snow Pea is capable of turning the ball to ice. Additionally, as well as slowing down zombies that wear helmets.

Enhanced Senses

In PvZ, plants are able to detect invisible zombies, even across the whole lawn, despite them being, well, invisible.

In the Garden Warfare franchise, they can zoom in to make more accurate and precise shots, letting them hit targets further away.

In Garden Warfare 2, they are able to get a Zoom Upgrade that lets them zoom in further than before.

Danmaku

In PvZ 2, they can use the “Plant Food” to fire a big barrage of frozen peas that will slow down and sometimes freeze zombies caught in it.

In PvZ 2 Chinese edition, the Energy Bean does the same effect, but if wearing a costume, Snow Pea will fire 3 big snow peas.

In PvZ Online, their skill, “Pea Scattershot” will fire a barrage of frozen peas in the top, middle, and bottom rows. They also Advance Snow Pea Attack,” which focuses on the current target and then focuses on the next attack target again.

In PvZ All stars, once Snow Pea’s anger metre fills up, they will use “Quick Freeze” attacking closest zombie with a barrage of frozen peas and Ice picks,

In PvZ 3, their Plant food ability is called “Snowball Fight,” which acts similar to their ability in PvZ 2.

In PvZ GW, Ice pea can use the ability “Pea Gatling” to root into the ground and fire 100 peas continuously. They have a similar ability called “Retro Gatling,” however this one has 50 less ammunition, but in exchange dealing more damage.

In PvZ GW 2, they gave an additional Ability called “Bling Gatling,” which virtually acts like Retro Bling, but having a different sound and looking different.

In the Dark Horse comics, sun is said to be able to make plants more powerful then before.

Statistic Amplification

In PvZ 2, Snow Pea is able to upgrade itself to become stronger than before and has a high chance to shoot a freezing pea.

In PvZ 2 Chinese Edition, can increase their health and attack power by 50% three separate times. They can also gain the chance to active their plant food ability whenever being planted

In PvZ Online, Snow Pea had two abilities that would increase their states. The first one being “Low Level Attack Rise” which would increase damage by 5%, and “Low Level Doppelganger” which would increase dodging power by 5%. Puzzle pieces would be able to increase a plant's stats. They could use “Insight” to increase their hit rate. “Skill Boast” could increase the percent of skill damage. Their Caption Skill would increase the critical hit rate of all team members. They also could have the chance to randomly boat themselves after mastering the card.

In PvZ All stars, puzzle pieces would increase many attributes of the plants. Equipment could also be used to increase the stats of plants in the game. Pets could also increase some stats of the plants as well.

In PvZ Garden Warfare, Ice Pea could use “Hyper” which would become faster as well as jump higher than before. They had another ability called “Super Pea Jump” which would let them jump even higher than before. They

In PvZ GW 2, they can get upgrades that increase their speed, the amount of ammo they can hold, reload time, and the amount of health they can have.

 Temporary Immunity

In PvZ 2 and the Chinese edition, when plants use Plant food or Energy Bean, they will become immune to most forms of damage for a short period of time.

Non-physical Interaction

In PvZ 2, plants are able to hurt and kill 8-bit zombies, those zombies being made completely out of light.

In PvZ Heroes, plants have also shown to be able to hurt ghosts, like the Haunting Ghost.

Acausality Type 1

In PvZ 2, because of Dave and the Neighbors time shenanigans, which ended up causing all of time to shatter. All the plants seem to be immune to these effects, completely effaced, this would grant them time paradox immunity.

Regeneration

In the Garden Warfare series, plants and zombies are able to regenerate health passively as they continue living. In Garden Warfare 2, they can get an upgrade that decreases their waiting time for regenerating health. Another upgrade increases how quickly they regenerate health.

Summoning (Kind of)

Snow Pea is able to summon additional help by using the Grow-a-Pot and Soil of Summoning. However if they run out of seed packets, then they would no longer be able to do this.

Self-sustenance Type 1

Plants don’t really need to breathe. They are shown to be just fine in space and on the moon, where, surprise, oxygen isn’t.

Immortality type 4

In the Garden Warfare series, respawning isn’t just a game mechanic, rather an actual ability they all have. This is shown by characters having abilities that directly tie into them respawning and even abilities that cancel out reviving. They can come back from nothing and even from being sent to unknown places from Cozmic Brainz.

Piercing

In PvZ All Stars, Ice Pea has a passive ability called “Rigor” that would 180 defence to the enemies armour. Additionally, the Snow Pea Zombie would have been able to fire through barriers and force fields like Infi-Nut’s and Moonflower’s plant food ability. Snow Pea could be comparable, but this is debatable.

In PvZ Online, They are able to pierce through enemies, being able to hurt multiple targets.

Honestly no clue where to really put these specific things, oh well.

Rage Mode

In PvZ All Star, all plants have an anger bar that will slowly increase as time progresses. Whenever that bar is filled, the plant would use its active plant food skill. In Ice Pea’s case, that would be Quick Freeze.

Size Manipulation

In the Dark Horse comics, when plants get enough sun, they are able to grow in size, being able to grow to the size of gargantuars.

Evolving and Transformations

Snow Pea has on plenty of occasions has either evolved and transformed. This is either with other plants or using something to evolve into a higher form. All occasions will listed below

In PvZ adventure, there is a variant of Ice Pea called “Ice Queen Pea.” This was a stronger version of Ice Pea.

In PvZ All Star, once a plant upgraded a tier, they could become a stronger version of themselves. Snow Pea is the Second “Tier in Ice Pea Line.” evolving from Droplet Shooter. Once getting to tier 3, they will become Frostbolt Shooter. This made them more powerful than before, as well as access to the ability “Icebreaker.” This would let them deal extra damage with Frost Rapide Fire, and additionally would deal double damage if the enemy was frozen.

In PvZ 3, their Tocobilty would let them transform into “Ice Queen.” This was a stronger variation of Snow Pea. They even had a chance to freeze zombies with their snowballs.

Fusions

In PvZ 2: Garden, they could merge with another Snow Pea, evolving into “Snow Twopeater.” If two Snow Pea Shooters would combine, it would create “Snow Threepeater.” Finally, if two Snow Threepeaters were put together, then a “Snow Pea Pod” would be created. In total, the entire process would take 8 Snow Peas

In PvZ 2: Revenge, it was a similar process like PvZ 2: Garden was, but it only went up to a Snow Threepeater, the whole process taking 4 Snow Peas.

Plants vs. Zombies 2: League, Snow Pea can fuse together, startings as “Ice Pea Shooter” to “Snow Pea” to “Frostbolt Shooter” and then the new one, “Re-Frostbolt Shooter.”

In PvZ: Hybrid Version, Snow Pea can fuse with different plants to create entirely different plants.

  • Ice-nut (Snow Pea + Ice Shroom + Wall-nut)

    • Fire ice projectiles to slow zombies down. When killed, they will freeze zombies in a 3*3 area.

  • Ice Blover (Snow Pea + Blover)

    • Blows enemies away while slowing them down.

  • Snow Cattail

    • Fires frozen homing attacks at zombies.

  • Northwest Sea Dragon King

    • Only shown in the Creativity Almanac, Northwest Sea Dragon King is put in as a homage to 蒲公英の心吹到天涯. It's based off the White Dragon Horse and an enchanted version of Junior Bailong who worked really hard.

Resistances

Ice Bird

Resistance to Extreme Temperatures

Ice Birds icicle feathers actually protect him against the cold vacuum of space. Additional Ice Birds has also been around extremely hot places like the “Red Planet” and other places that are extremely hot.

Snow Pea

 Low Temperatures

In PvZ 2, plants are able to survive being frozen for extended periods of time. They are completely fine whenever they are unfrozen.

  • Survive some attacks from zombies.

  • When eating Plant Food or Energy Bean, they are nearly unkillable.

  • Can scale to the other Plants and Zombies.

Speed

  • Can scale to the other Plants and Zombies.

Scaling

Ice Bird

The Flock

So despite only fully appearing in one game, he still should scale directly to the main cast and to the pig as well. Seeing as he was able to fight alongside the Birds and fought and defeated King Pig and the Pigs.

The Pigs

Not only does Ice bird scale to the birds, he should scale to the Pigs as well. For one, he does kill a bunch of different pigs, as well as the other birds who constantly stop and defeat the pigs over and over again.

Snow Pea

Other plants

Now Scaling Snow Pea may be a bit more complicated, but they should be able to scale to all of the other plants in the Pvz franchise. Additionally Ice pea would also be able to scale to the Garden Warfare and the Hero’s from Pvz Heroes.

The Zombies

Now Scaling Snow Pea may be a bit more complicated, but they should be able to scale to all of the other plants in the Pvz franchise. Additionally Ice pea would also be able to scale to the Garden Warfare and the Hero’s from Pvz Heroes

Gnomes

Now for the more dubious scaling in this all. Gnomes are very powerful creatures in Plants vs Zombies, supposedly bend space time and all sorts of wacky stuff. However a huge thing that's always brought up is that they lie and deceive. The Plants have actually defeated them on a few occasions.

Weaknesses

Ice Bird

For the most part Ice Bird doesn’t have too many weaknesses. However one glaring weakness is the lack of ways to attack from a far. Most of his equipment is tailored to getting close.

Another general weakness is if Ice Bird were to get immobilised, then he’d be in a lot of trouble. It’s been shown to stop him before, like with the image above. So if a character has a way to completely stop him, then there’s not much he could do.

Snow Pea

First and foremost, something that should be addressed is the fact that some incarnations of Snow Pea are rooted into the ground. This basically prevents them from being able to move around. This is obviously a big issue when it comes into a fight, even if Snow Pea is able to fire from long distances, this would still be a major problem.

Additionally, Ice Bird doesn’t have many options when it comes to close combate. They do have different kinds of hammers and the Chilli Beans, but other than that he doesn’t have much when it comes to close up.

Things of note

Dubious Feats/scaling for Ice Bird

So Ice Bird should solidly scale to most characters in the Angry Birds franchise. They fought alongside the Birds and fought against the pigs. While not all the feats come from Angry Birds Space, the other characters outside of these games have shown incredible feats. Now the question is figuring out which feats are actually usable and to start we’ll go over the most interesting one…

How Fast is Chuck and do others scale?

So Chuck's whole deal is that he’s the FASTEST bird. He has shown feats that can be from Light Speeds to Immeasurable. Now first are these feats usable themselves?

Yeah, we would say so. He has plenty of statements of being faster than light, and these are backed up by Chuck crossing the Milky Way super fast and even being able to escape a black hole. Now what about Immeasurable? We do have statements of him being so fast that he bends space and time and even being there before he’s left, but do we have stuff to back this up? Well, we do actually see Chuck go around the earth and even travel through time using his speed. So it's not actually incorrect to say Chuck is.

Now do others scale? Well we do actually have cases of characters being on par with Chuck, even when Chuck is serious. For one we do see that Red can actually keep up with Chuck in a race and we even see Terrance beat Chuck in a race. In both cases Chuck was actually trying, especially when Terrance beat him. We also see random pigs being able to dodge Chuck when he is serious. So characters being similar levels of speed to chuck seems pretty constant. So it’s reasonable to say that Ice Bird can scale Chuck’s speed

To summarize, Chuck does have immeasurable speeds and characters are shown being capable to match and even surpass Chuck in speed even when he does try, which Ice bird should scale. This gives him Immeasurable speeds.

Characters affecting the Phone

So in Slingshot Stories, we see characters able to mess with the phone from the inside. This is notable due to the fact that this phone holds the Angry Birds game, their entire universe, and they are shown moving and even breaking the phone while inside their phone. Is this Universal levels of  power? I mean, yeah it should be. They are moving something that contains their entire universe and all characters should scale to this. This gives Ice Bird Universal levels of power.

Other Statements

So there are plenty of statements in Angry Birds that can get from star levels of power all the way to Universal. So are these statements usable? Yeah! There are plenty of statements that get to a similar level of power.

Bomb’s explosions are said to shake the entire universe. We can back this up with a similar level of power to other characters to move the Phone, which we have said is Universal. So it's not too bizarre to say that this is viable, which is in line with the next statement.

The Pig Star is said to be able to blow up the universe. Not only have seens similar power levels but also similar statements as well. Its again not to far-fetched to say that this is either unreasonable.

Dubious Feats/scaling for Snow Pea

So does Snow Pea scale to other plants and zombies, well yes. First they are a character who does actually scale the GW cast since they are in the game and they should scale to all the normal plants in PvZ due to also being in that game. To add on to that is that Snow Pea is basically a Peashooter, so they are fairly comparable. Now we just have to figure out the feats that are questionable and to start off…

What's the deal with Plasma Pea?

Plasma Pea has always been a topic of debate, and I think things Plasma Pea is viable to use for debates. For starters, yes it was a part of a contest and was created by a fan, however it’s notable that the universe and space-time stuff was MADE by Popcap and not the fan. They envisioned something almost entirely different for Plasma Pea, even the name would have been different. All of that was Popcaps doing and even then, it is still in the game meaning it is canon regardless if it was created by a fan.

Statements for Plasma Pea also should be viable. The sticker book description actually has shown to be pretty reliable when it comes to other descriptions in the game. I don’t see why Plasma Pea’s should not be believed when others are reliable.

Backing this up is actually in-game gameplay. When peas hit other zombies, it makes stars and constellations. This further proves the universe and space-time stuff said in the descriptions.

To wrap this part up, almost everything proves Plasma Pea being just as bizarre due to a combination of descriptions, it being made by Popcap and even in game gameplay adding to the previous two points to its viability. This would all be around Universal and Immeasurable Speeds.

Other similar feats

There are actually other similar feats to Plasma Pea, while not being as direct, they do show similar in scale. Ones like Part Citron and Agents partying so hard they ripped the fabric of time and created singularities, characters surviving the collapse of the space-time continuum, going into infinity and the gnomes (which we’ll get to in a bit.) As for if these are viable, well let's get into it.

Citron being able to party so hard they ripped the fabric of time comes from the Sticker Book description, and as we have said before should be viable due to the nature of other descriptions. We also know that Citron does actually get stronger as they party, as we see in game, which could actually add to the fact that he physically partied so hard that he broke the fabric of time.

The Agents are somewhat in a similar spot. While we don’t have anything other than the statement, we do have a similar feat, which we just mentioned. To say that the other is possible shouldn’t be too far-fetched to say that this one isn’t usable as well.

As for characters surviving the collapse of the space-time continuum, it's a bit more strange. They did actually survive this, but after is a bit different. They do take steady damage and eventually die afterwards. Now we could actually use this as well, as with Plasma Pea they can take damage to whole universes hitting them, being able to survive multiple shots. So to say that this is all too different wouldn’t exactly be bizarre, even if they aren’t exactly that similar looking on a base surface.

This would also be around Universal and Immeasurable Speeds for Snow Pea to scale to.

Gnomes…

Just like Plasma Pea, the Gnomes are heavily debated if the statements are usable or not. And to get this part out the way, regardless if they are real or not, it wouldn’t matter as they still do have feats on a similar level to the Gnomes. So this really is just to add onto the previous statements and feats that were stated before. A huge issue with the Gnomes is that they lie, which can make what they say trick to say if they are usable or not.

Gnomes holding space and time in their pocket aren't really too absorbed in PvZ. We have other characters do stuff on a similar leave that could get them to the same feats as this one. As if they do actually hold these, well I don’t think it's too far-fetched to say that they do.

Similarly, Gnomes being able to fart black holes is well, one strange, but two kinds of absolute. I can’t 100% say that they can, but we have feats that are way higher on a scale that many other characters perform and scale too.

Now the Gnomes hurting the Infinity Time Mechs, it should be usable. We already have talked about other characters being able to survive it and other similar things. So to say that the Gnomes don’t scale on a similar level is a bit strange.

All in all this entire section can be summarised to Snow Pea being able to scale to Universal and Immeasurable Speeds.

Unused & Scraped content

So as some of you may have noticed, we gave both Ice Bird and Snow Pea things that don’t actually exist, and unlike games that no longer exist, those things never existed in the first place. First Let’s talk about Ice Bird’s kart

Ice Bird was never in Angry Birds Go! But models of him and his kart do exist. So this does allude to the idea that at one point he was planned or at least thought of for being in the game. So why did we include it, simply put it, why not. It hardly changed anything in this fight, and if you don’t want Ice bird to have it then that is perfectly fine.

Now on too Snow Pea, we gave him stuff from PvZ 3 simply to make it far since we are giving Ice Bird a Kart from Go. The things from PvZ 3 hardly change anything in this fight other than giving Snow Pea a different form and similar plant food effect.

Plants vs. Zombies: Hybrid Version

So for those who don’t know, Plants vs. Zombies: Hybrid Version is a mod made for Plants vs Zombies. Now you may be asking, why is it added, well it’s strange. On June 18th 2024, the official Plants vs. Zombies: Original Edition Bilibili page had made an announcement and official collaboration with the mod. This also added some of the hybrid plants from the Original Edition into the game. Whether or not you want to include this is debatable, but it doesn’t add particularly that much into this battle, but it was just too fun a little thing to add. If you don't, then well idk, don’t add it.

Final Thoughts

Now that everything has been laid out, let's see which snow version of the main character is going to win the title of king.

Physical Stats

Physical Stats are a bit weird at first. Looking at their own stats, Ice Bird is shown to be more Durable, stronger and debatable faster, but when we look at scaling that brings in a whole other equation. Both do universal and immeasurable speeds through scaling, but the most important thing here is Snow Pea has ways to increase their states, and they have multiple ways to do so. With seed packets, puzzle pieces, pets and weapons. This would most likely put above Ice Bird. Base stats are equal, but Snow Pea can increase their stats.

Skills and Abilities

So let’s get the main one out the way, who has better ice manipulation. Well this is actually an interesting answer, but not why you would think. By all means Snow Pea has shown a great amount of variety with their ice manipulation, at least when it comes to a list of what they can do in comparison to Ice Bird. The interesting thing is both do have some immunity to cold temperatures, however the difference here, Snow Pea can be frozen. They have shown being frozen in multiple cases, becoming completely neutralised. Ice Bird on the other hand is almost completely immune to extreme coldness and heat, so any chilling related ability that Snow Pea has would be completely useless. Now if Ice Bird is able to just come into contact with Snow Pea, it would almost certainly be a loss for Snow Pea, as they have no way of bypassing being completely frozen. This can be mitigated with the fact that Snow Pea can attack from long distances, and even if Ice Bird wouldn’t be affected by any chilling effect, doesn’t mean he can’t be encased in ice, but this would only be a temporary stop to Ice Bird. It is worth mentioning that Snow Pea’s ability “Icebreaker” would actually work on Ice Bird, since by all accounts Ice Bird is already frozen, so by all means all of Snow Pea’s “Quick Freeze” attack would deal double the damage. Even though Snow Pea has more options Ice Bird would simply not be affected by most of it.

Something else interesting is which has better summoning/calling reinforcements. Both would be able to, but with quite the differences. So Ice Bird is able to call in a random bird that can be fired alongside Ice Bird. Snow Pea is able to plant and grow plants and weeds in their respective places (Grow-A-Pot and soil of summoning). Both do have a major flaw. Ice Bird only lets them have one (due to the nature of it being card game related for the sake of this will be treated as a one time use). If we assume it really is any of the main birds, it can range from how useful they are, not saying that any of the birds are useless. Snow Pea on the other hand has to use pots of the soil of summoning, and the plants in the pots are not able to move. So which one is better, for the most part, Snow Pea. They just have better options at their disposal and can do it multiple times before they run out of seed packets. Not to mention they could use the “Ice Peashooter” to combine them with each other to get the Twopeater or Threepeater forms.

Now with the abilities they don’t share, which one has better ones. Snow Pea has many ways of buffing themselves with things for all over games. This would be very beneficial and make the gap in their stats smaller. However even with that, Ice Bird simply has ways of not letting Snow Pea even hit him. Ice Bird would be able to keep his distance with flight, even with Snow Pea’s ranged options. Something else that would be really helpful is being able to travel to the Eggsteroid pocket dimension, a place Snow Pea would have no access to. Snow Pea still isn’t without his benefits, things like Danmaku, which could be used to overwhelm Ice Bird, or have temporary invincibility when using the Plant Food. Regeneration is also a huge plus on Snow Pea’s part, as Ice Bird has not shown being able to regenerate damage, so as long as Snow Pea can keep his distance, then they would be able to heal from some of the damage they took. Both have good advantages over the other, but this point can be argued for Ice Bird simply for Snow Pea’s main ability not having much effect on Ice Bird.

Weapons and Equipment

So both of them don’t necessarily have that much weapons and equipment, but what they do have can be quite helpful. Ice Bird’s debatably best thing he has would be the Eggstroids, being able to retreat to a pocket dimension if he is ever in a pinch, as well as using it to possibly trap Snow Pea in it. Additionally the Power Ups would be a part, considering Ice Bird doesn’t need to get close with “Puffer Pig.” which would put Snow Pea at a huge disadvantage. The Slingshot isn’t actually a huge factor in this fight, seeing as Ice Bird can just fly without it. Now Snow Pea has way more things at his disposal. Things like the Plant Food and Energy Bean would be able to overwhelm Ice bird with a barrage of attacks. Things like the Grow-a-Pot and soil of summoning, those having access to Heal Flower and Heal Weed, or having additional fire power. Not to mention all of the things like Seed Packets, Puzzle Pieces, and pets & armours. Even though Ice Bird has a few good options, what really limits him is the lack of equipment.

Snow Pea had way more equipment, but Ice Birds Eggsteroids and Power Up’s make up for it.

Conclusion

Ice Bird

Advantages:

  • =Similar in base stats

  • =both can respawn

  • +Ice Bird is immune to most of Snow Pea’s ice abilities and couldn’t be frozen.

  • +Ice bird could freeze and immobilise Snow Pea.

  • +Puffer Pig ignored durability and could kill Snow Pea and their summons.

  • +Eggstroids could send Snow Pea away or he could use them to hide and heal…

  • +Could Freeze Most of Snow Peas summons…

Disadvantages:

  • -… Snow Pea could respawn and appear back in the battle as other characters have shown doing the same.

  • -… Except Fire Peashooter and Snapdragon.

  • -No real ranged option.

  • -Icebreaker would let Snow Pea always do double damage.

  • -Not as good of a summoner.

Snow Pea

Advantages:

  • =Similar base Stats

  • +Had many ways to buff stats

  • +Had more equipment and ranged options

  • +Summon help better than Ice Bird

  • +Icebreaker would let Snow Pea do double damage

  • +Had better Ice manipulation…

  • +is invulnerable to damage while under Plant Food/Energy Bean…

  • +Fire Peashooter and Snapdragon can’t be frozen…

  • =Both could respawn…

Disadvantages:

  • -… But most of it didn’t matter as Ice Bird is immune

  • -… But this isn’t permanent and can even be frozen during their Plant Food/Energy Bean.

  • -… But these Fire plants also negatively effect Snow Pea

  • -… But could be immobilised by Ice Bird’s Ice.

  • -Most Summons can be frozen.

  • -Has no way around Puffer Pig

Snow Pea did have a shot at winning, but Ice Bird had everything he needed to win even with Snow Pea’s Equipment, summons and stat boost. If Snow Pea would have to play very strategically in order to win, and ultimately Ice Bird has a better shot of winning most of the time.

The Winner is Icebird

Ice Man from The X-Men: Shaggy

This Blog actually was started way back ago, but I came back to it to finish it, and it was fun looking into all the media to both, even with Rovia not using Ice Bird a lot, bring him back! Anyway, thank you all for reading if you got this far. Unless you skipped all the way to the end of the blog, which is so, then real.

I only made the image for the Final Thoughts image so if any die hard Snow Pea fans see this, please don’t hurt me I had nothing to do with this.
